Four-time grammy-winning artist and producer Jairus Mozee is bringing the melodies of R&B, soul, and hip-hop to Grey LB on Jan. 20 in an event called “Fat Friday.”
Mozee, who grew up in Long Beach, is known for his work with artists such as Anderson Paak, Kendrick Lamar, and Kali Uchis. He has even shared the stage with the legendary pop star, Prince. The grammy-winning artist spices up his tracks with his soulful and psychedelic guitar harmonies, which is what attendees can look forward to at Friday’s event.
“Fat Friday” will also feature live music performances from award-winning producers and artists, Charlie Bereal and Anthony Cruz. They’ll also have DJ Space spinning on turntables all night long. The blend of R&B genres sets up this event to have a mellow and groovy atmosphere, where people can hang-out, dance, and even network with one another.
Grey LB’s venue is in the heart of downtown, which represents the eclectic range of Long Beach’s music scene. They’re starting the year off strong with a show that’s packed full of electrifying and soulful music. Whether you’re already a fan of hip-hop and R&B or you’re just looking for something to do on a Friday night, “Fat Friday” intends to show attendees the culture of live music, which has the power to create a sense of unity. Through music, we can find and create a community out of new and familiar faces. You can purchase tickets to this event here.
