It’s officially Halloween week!  Is it just me or has this been a super long October?  We have enjoyed so many fun Halloween events and there’s even more to come this week!  Make sure you check back weekly to see the best events going on each week, brought to you by Long Beach Home + Living and ExploreLongBeach !

LET’S BOX, MOMMAS

Wednesday October 30th at 6 pm

Looking to make some mom friends and work on your fitness? Let’s Box, Mommas is a fun, all levels cardio boxing class for busy moms! Put on big boxing gloves and head to Gigil for a fun cardio boxing class with Karolina. They will be throwing punches and kicks to the beat of the music. No previous boxing experience required. Gloves & liners provided for all participants. All fitness levels are welcome. Please bring a mat or a towel, water and wear workout attire.

And bonus!  Supervised play for up to 2 children is included with your class registration. Children should be able to sit up on their own to be enrolled in supervised play. Please indicate the number of children in supervised play at time of registration.  Class can be purchased as a series for a discounted rate, or you can register as a drop-in as well!

TRICK OR TREATING ON 2ND STREET

Thursday October 31st from 4-6 pm

Looking to trick or treat but don’t want to be out super late?  Head to 2nd Street in Belmont Shore and let your littles trick or treat at the local businesses from 4 – 6 pm!  We like to get there early and beat the crowds and then call it a night around 5.  It’s nice that it’s still light out and you can also learn about new restaurants and stores in the Shore.  Check out their website for more info and to learn about other Belmont Shore events!

DAY OF THE DEAD CELEBRATION – FIRST FRIDAYS

Friday November 1st from 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm

Is it November already?!  That means another First Fridays in Bixby Knolls!  This month’s theme is Day of the Dead so there will be sugar skulls, traditional music and art, and a Community Altar!  This is a great opportunity to teach the kids about this classic Mexican holiday and celebrate those who are no longer with you. FESTIVAL OF FLIGHT

Saturday November 2nd from 10 am – 4 pm

Airplanes, trucks to sit in, helicopter rides, and more! Check out the Long Beach Airport’s annual Festival of Flight this Saturday! Festival of Flight is a free community celebration (no tickets necessary) featuring aircraft on static display, food trucks, beer trucks, and live music. This year’s event will feature 80s tribute band-Knyght Ryder, and much more!

All ages are welcome and no pets are allowed, except service animals. We encourage you to ride share or use public transportation.  Free parking is available, but limited, on the corner of E. CREATION STATION

Saturday November 2nd from 1 pm – 4 pm

Fall arts and crafts at the rancho!  Get creative with history! Using and experimenting with a wide variety of colorful and natural materials, children can create seasonal arts and crafts. This FREE drop-in program takes place rain or shine. November’s theme is Brilliant Brown!
