By square miles alone District 6 is one of the smaller districts in Long Beach, but that doesn’t mean it is not packed with some of the absolute best local spots in the city.

It is impossible to mention this part of Long Beach without mentioning the iconic El Sauz. El Sauz is a staple, especially their taco window which will sometimes have lines around the block as people line up after a night out for some tacos. While everything on the menu will knock your socks off, their signature item has become their birria.

This spot has gained a reputation for some of the best Mexican food in the city and for good reason. Everything you order is fresh and expertly seasoned. I highly recommend getting and extra side of their house-made green salsa which has a nice spice level that cuts through the rich flavors and compliments them perfectly. El Sauz brings high quality food at affordable prices and is truly one of the must visit places in Long Beach.

Fine Feathers Kombucha may have changed hands in the last few years, but not only did it stay local it stayed quality. The couple who took over the Long Beach brand, Brandon and Claire, were already well known in the small business community for their Korean restaurant Sura! They bring the same love and attention to detail to Fine Feathers, which is brewed and packaged onsite. Talk about local! This taproom is also the place to be if you are looking to start brewing your own kombucha or other specialty teas. With lots of natural light and friendly faces Fine Feathers is a dang fine place to spend an afternoon.
