Belmont Shore will light up the night skies with one of its most anticipated holiday events—the Belmont Shore Christmas Parade. In its 39th edition, the parade is scheduled for this Saturday, Dec. 2nd, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and is anticipated to draw in a crowd of approximately 50,000 attendees.
As tradition dictates, the parade will start along East Second Street, spanning the route from Livingston Avenue to Bayshore Avenue.
This year’s theme, “Christmas by the Sea,” encapsulates the coastal essence of Belmont Shore, offering a delightful twist to the holiday cheer. The streets will be adorned with over 100 entries, featuring local marching bands, imaginative floats crafted by Long Beach businesses and associations, and appearances by local figures and dignitaries.
In line with the theme, Charles Moore, founder of the Algalita Marine Research Foundation and a Belmont Shore resident, has been appointed as the parade’s sea captain by the Belmont Shore Business Association (BSBA), organizers of the event.
Belmont Shore side streets will close to traffic at 2 p.m., while Second Street shuts down at 4 p.m. At 5:00 p.m., families, friends, and neighbors have the chance to stake their spots and set up chairs and blankets along the parade route. An ADA-accessible viewing area will be available in front of Chase Bank at 5200 E 2nd St.
As a gift to the community, the Belmont Shore Christmas parade welcomes individuals of all ages without any entry fees or required reservations so everyone can partake in the celebration.
Free parking will be available at the Ocean Avenue beach lot meters, with additional spaces at the Marine Stadium parking lots after 3 p.m.
The 39th Belmont Shore Christmas Parade will take place rain or shine and promises an unforgettable evening filled with laughter, music, and the unmistakable magic of the holiday season. Join in the celebration as Belmont Shore ushers in the festive spirit in grand style.
