Tacos and Tequila Festival is just two days away! Aside from delicious tacos from various regions, live music and tequila tastings from the best brands, the festival will also feature live lucha libre.
Famed wrestler, Damian 666 is due to make an appearance on the heels of some health complications that have affected his ability to wrestle.
June 29 was supposed to mark the final fight for Damian 666 following a lengthy career spanning over 30 years but at the behest of his doctors, he will be sitting this one out.
According to Damian’s manger, the luchador suffered a heart attack in March and had to undergo an emergency surgery.
A campaign was launched shortly after for fans to donate money to help alleviate the financial burden of medical bills.
Damian 666 began his career in 1985 and trained with world renowned fighters, including Rey Misterio.
In the years since, he has garnered dozens of accolades including, a Mexican National Welterweight championship title.
While fans lament not being able to see the fighter in the ring, his legacy lives on through his son Bestia 666, who currently holds the title for the World Wrestling Association’s Tag Team Championship.
The pair will be present at the Tacos and Tequila Festival at Long Beach City College’s Pacific Coast Campus on June 29, along with other luchadors who are sure to put on a thrilling show.
