The Long Beach Festival of Flight 2022 will be held on October 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Long Beach Airport. The festival is family friendly, free, and welcomes all ages! Attendees will be able to enjoy static aircraft displays such as helicopters and fixed-wing aircrafts, activities for children, food and beer trucks, helicopter rides -which do include a fee, and live entertainment. The festival is anticipated to have a crowd of roughly 10,000 people who will be able to experience a variety of historic and new aircrafts held on the airfield of the airport.
At the 2021 Festival of flight, guests were surprised with aircrafts such as the C-130 Hercules which is a military aircraft with a four-engine turboprop, along with NASA DC-8 which was built in Long Beach around the 1960s. Not only can the C-130 be used to transport cargo and military personnel, it can also be operated in risky areas. The anticipation grows as guests wait to see what popular aircraft will be waiting for them at this year’s Festival of Flight!
The Festival of Flight highly encourages attendees to have a source of hydration, wear comfortable shoes and apply sunscreen. Coolers and pets are not permitted on the airfield, only service animals are allowed. The festival will take place in rain or shine!

The festival was initially known as the “Fly-In” which started in 2013 as a way to celebrate Long Beach Airport’s 90th anniversary. The festival takes place as a way to celebrate California’s oldest airport, Long Beach Airport (LGB).
