Long Beach Black Restaurant Week

With Black History Month around the corner, businesses are gearing up to spotlight and celebrate the importance of the Black community, history and culture that is what makes Black History Month so special. Here in Long Beach we have a 8 day long celebration in the form of Black Restaurant Week that leads right into Black History Month.

Launched in 2019 Long Beach Food & Beverage, a registered California 501(c)3 non-profit, wanted to find a way to give back in a way that directly affected the black owned businesses here in Long Beach. Devoted to celebrating African, African American and Caribbean fare in and around Long Beach, over a dozen of Black owned restaurants who are participating, there are plenty of options to choose from to visit, help spotlight and support.

The event also seeks to highlight Black-owned culinary businesses as well as Black chefs and bartenders. Long Beach Black Restaurant Week is a medium to bring everyone to the table, from all walks of life, to showcase the city’s diverse Black food scene.

These last few years have been particularly rough on the food industry, especially small mom and pop restaurants. If you are still choosing to limit your interactions instead of using a delivery service to support, order directly from the restaurants this Long Beach Black Restaurant Week and make sure to spread the good word. All we have is each other during these unprecedented times, so let’s do our part and truly support our Black-owned businesses!
