The Long Beach Fashion Exposure will be hosting their first runway show next Saturday, May 6th, at the Long Beach Scottish Rite from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. to raise awareness and funds Lupus awareness.
This event is dedicated to bringing together designers of all skill levels to showcase their designs for Beauty and Pain, Inc.—an organization dedicated to promoting friendships, interpersonal skills, and hope for people living with Lupus.
The fashion show will also include a variety of donated items that have been given by the local businesses and a chance to purchase designs showcased on the runway via a silent auction. All the proceeds from this event will be forwarded to Beauty and Pain Inc. and the Long Beach Scottish Rite for building restorations.
The Long Beach Fashion exposure was just founded this year in 2023 by Jhen De Webb, a plus size model inflicted with Lupus. De Webb hopes that this event will bring forward creativity, self-expression, and ingenuity in the effort to challenge the status quo of the fashion community to be inclusive to all people.
This show also wishes to focus on sustainability to increase environmental responsibility and social consciousness within the fashion industry. The Long Beach Fashion Exposure hopes it can inspire people to design the change they wish to see in the world that they inhabit.
The average cost of admission will be $25 for general admission $40 and VIP admission ($50 for 1st row VIP admission). Tickets can be purchased here.
