BEACH ROLLER DISCO SEASON OPENER
When: Thursday March 5th from 5 pm – 8 pm
Where: Bayshore Rink Party, 14 54th Pl, Long Beach
Summer fun is already beginning! Bayshore Rink Party is kicking off this season of disco parties! Skate lessons or practice time from 5:00-6:00pm, and the Roller Disco is from 6:00-8:00pm. Entry is $8 and it’s an additional $8 if you need to rent skates. Please message Bayshore Rink Party to reserve your size if you plan on renting. All kids under 18 must have parent signed waiver and appropriate safety gear, and all kids under 12 must have parent on site, parent signed waiver and all safety gear. MEET CAT FROM CAT IN THE HAT
When: Saturday March 7th from 11 am – 1230 pm
Where: CM SCHOOL SUPPLY, 5440 E Del Amo Blvd, Long Beach
Come Meet Cat from the popular book Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss at CM School Supply in Long Beach! Take Pictures with him and have your kids enjoy a fun FREE Dr. Seuss craft. Great for all ages. Let them know you are coming, and check out their event page for more details!
READ TO A DOG
When: Saturday March 7th at 11 am
Where: Friends of the Los Alamitos/Rossmoor Library, 12700 Montecito Rd, Seal Beach
Come and have your reluctant reader read to a dog! Children can improve their reading skills and build confidence by reading to a trained therapy dog. Even if they already read well, it is such a joy to read to these dogs! Reserve your 10-minute slot. Call the library to schedule your time. Walk-ins are welcome. Ages 4 and up. Occurs the first Saturday of every month. More info at the event page below!
CREATION STATION AT RANCHO LOS CERRITOS
When: Saturday March 7th from 1 pm – 4 pm
Where: Rancho Los Cerritos, 4600 Virginia Rd, Long Beach
It’s crafting time! Get creative with history during this free family event! Using a wide variety of colorful materials, children can experiment with natural materials to create seasonal arts and crafts. This drop-in program takes place rain or shine. The theme for March is Lovely Lavender and it celebrates spring! Head over to their event page for more details and more upcoming dates!
COMMUNITY PURIM CARNIVAL
When: Sunday March 8th from 12 pm – 3 pm
Where: Alpert Jewish Community Center, 3801 E Willow Street, Long Beach
Grab the fam and head to the Alpert JCC this Sunday to celebrate Purim! There will be circus rides, games, and entertainment! Delicious Kosher Food and Hamantaschen will be available for sale as well. Rides include the ferris wheel, inflatable obstacle course, rock climber, train rides, and more. Unlimited Attractions Wristband are $25 per person or $20 per person with 2 non-perishable food items (Food will be donated to JFCS.) Individual attraction tickets will also be available for sale.
