LB Living is bringing you some of Long Beach’s best cuisine and restaurants for the Absolute Best Of Awards Ceremony. These local
establishments will be providing the food for our exciting Alice in Wonderland-themed event, but be sure to support and check them out once you’ve come back out of the rabbit hole.
Wild Chive
The first establishment on the list is The Wild Chive. It is a vegan paradise with a menu full of delectable choices stemming from their juicy southern fried chick’n sandwiches to their fruit-stuffed french toast. Their brunch menu and contemporary casual atmosphere have made them a hit in the city of Long Beach—so much so that reservations are always required if dining in on the weekends. Make sure to stop by their location at 2650 E Broadway in Long Beach.
Little Coyote
Next, we have Little Coyote, a pizza place known for its savory New York-style pies. The owners are inspired by their memories at old-school New York pizzerias, packing their pies full of the flavor that makes the city known for the having best pizza in the nation. Little Coyote’s “White Pie” is what really sets them apart from your average pizza joint; it’s a pizza made with a white sauce base, topped with melt-in-your-mouth ricotta and mozzarella cheese, and has a kick of Calabrian chili. You can try this pizza at one of Little Coyote’s two locations: 2118 E. 4th Steet or at 3500 N. Los Coyotes Diagonal.
LB Homerun Dogs
Hot dog lovers unite! LB Homerun Dogs is a woman-owned business dedicated to specialty hot dogs, with meat options ranging from asada, al pastor, and surf&turf. You can also find loaded quesadillas and tacos drizzled with a variety of tasty salsas on their menu. Battambong BBQ
Battambong BBQ is a one-of-a-kind Texas and Cambodian fusion serving up flavorful BBQ meats. Known as the “Cambodian Cowboy,” the owner of Battambong cooks up Texan BBQ with a twist of Cambodian spices and flavors. Grab a plate of classic BBQ meat cuts, or if you’re feeling more adventurous, have a bowl of Brisket Kuytier, a Cambodian noodle soup topped with smokey brisket. Breakfast Bar
The Breakfast Bar is a family-owned restaurant specializing in homemade recipes and crafted drinks. Many of the dishes served here come from recipes passed down from the owners’ great-grandmothers and aunts. They’ve got favorites like the country-fried cornflake chicken breakfast, that’s got chicken breast battered in cornflakes cereal and smothered with Nana’s gravy, served with their popular potato pancakes. This homestyle breakfast joint is meant to bring you the taste of comfort-home cooking with every bite. You can find The Breakfast Bar at 70 Atlantic Ave. or at 3404 E. 4th Street.
The Pie Bar
The Pie Bar is an establishment that bakes unique sweet and savory pies fresh daily. They even make pies for your furry companion! Choose from a wide selection of pies, including creme brulee, chocolate peanut butter, lemon lavender, and ube coconut pies. Cafa Blanca
Cafa Blanca is the cutest three-wheeled full-service Italian espresso bar that rolls all around Southern California. They carry coffee, freshly brewed teas, and an assortment of baked goods. The moveable establishment makes it the ideal catering service for any special events that you may have. It has two baristas always on hand ready to help serve you. Look out for this little truck the next time you’re around 1800 E. Broadway, Bixby Park Dog Park, or 1 Junipero Ave.
Locali Seasoned
LB Living has teamed up with Locali Seasoned to provide desserts for Absolute Best Of! They will be offering a delicious toffee butter cake flavored with Medjool dates, sticky toffee, and vanilla bean to finish off your meal at the awards ceremony. Locali Seasoned is a woman-owned business that offers curated cooking classes at Partake Collective in Long Beach. After you learn to cook a meal from one of their expert chefs, you are directed to sit down at a beautifully decorated table to eat and chat amongst new friends.
