September 28 is National Drink Beer Day! And for those who love beer as much as we do, this is probably the best holiday ever. Not like we needed an assigned holiday to drink beer, but since there is one why not go out and celebrate it with a cold one. Oh and guess what? Don’t know if you’ve heard yet, but Long Beach happens to have been in the news recently for our growth as a craft beer-loving city. So, consider this your lucky day because we are about to tell you some of the best spots you can go to celebrate this awesome day.

 

Public Beer Wine Shop

This cool, mellow, and stylish hangout spot features 12 constantly rotating craft beers on tap, a unique selection of craft beers, a curated food menu by chef Eduardo Ruiz of Corazon y Miel, and an art gallery you can enjoy while enjoying a beer or two.

Happy Hour: $1 off craft beer Monday through Friday 5 PM – 8 PM, Saturday 10 PM until close, and all night on Sunday.

Ballast Point Long Beach

This is definitely a spot worth checking out. It is one of the most popular breweries among Long Beach residents. The location is great, located right next to the marina, they feature a large selection of craft beers on tap. They even have a pumpkin flavored beer perfect to get into the fall spirit.

Tasting room hours: Monday through Sunday 11 AM – 11 PM

Want to celebrate National Drink Beer Day in one of the newest hot spots in town? The Beachwood Blendery is the place to go. This spot is quickly catching fire among Long Beach residents because of its relaxed and modern vibe. It is truly an experimental hub of great sours and weisses. It features a selection of unique sour blends on tap, board games, and it is dog-friendly. Bartenders are said to be very friendly and willing to answer all sorts of questions patrons might have. Definitely, a spot worthy of the National Drink Beer Day celebration and a must go to spot.

Tasting room hours: Wed/Thu 5 – 10 PM, Friday 4 – 11 PM, Saturday 2 – 11 PM, and Sunday 1 – 7 PM.

This a family owned and operated craft brewery and taproom. The architecture of this spot provides a very open, cool, and spacious vibe. Ten Mile Brewing offers a selection of handcrafted beers brewed with the freshest and finest ingredients to reflect the historical accuracy of each style of beer. They are also dog-friendly. The brewery even has its own in-house dog that roams free, a cute Akita named Barley. Perfect spot for beer and dog lovers!

The Congregation Ale House has a not-so-subtle church theme. But don’t worry, it isn’t cheesy at all. It is actually very well done creating a cool, laid-back environment. This spot features a large selection of draft beers on tap, a delicious food menu with vegetarian options, great prices, and friendly staff. It has a great restaurant/pub layout, where you can order at the bar and sit anywhere you want.
