From dazzling fireworks displays illuminating the night sky to block parties that animate the streets, Long Beach becomes a hub of excitement and camaraderie during this patriotic celebration. Check out these five family-friendly events going on in the city to make your 4th of July truly exceptional!
Big Bang on the Bay Block Party
On July 3 from 5:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m., Boathouse on the Bay will be hosting a block party along Marina Drive for a night of food, drinks, activities, and fireworks. A BBQ dinner catered by Naples Rib Company will be provided and two outdoor bars will be offering beer, wine, and cocktails. The fireworks show starts at 9 p.m.; seating will be available for viewing but attendees are welcome to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Proceeds from the Block Party tickets will be dedicated to supporting several organizations including Autism Partnership Foundation, Precious Life Shelter, Send a Kid to Camp Fund, and more. 4th of July Kids Bike Parade
The “Great American 4th of July Kids Bike Parade” hosted by Justin Rudd is a free event that will take place at 10 a.m. in front of Rosie’s Dog Beach. A kid’s patriotic speech contest will take place at 9:50 a.m., then the bike parade will begin at the Granada Ave. boat launch ramp and head east down the bike path. 54th Place and Bay Shore Drive are closed to vehicles that morning for the bike route. The event will also host a kid’s patriotic costume contest at 10:30 a.m. Residents interested in the event are encouraged to register here.
Queen Mary 4th of July Celebration
For the first time since its re-opening, the Queen Mary will be hosting a family-friendly 4th of July event filled with music, entertainment, food, drinks, and of course fireworks! The historic Observation Bar will be open for the event as well as concession stands on the Promenade Deck. The festivities begin at 5 p.m. and the fireworks show will occur at 9 p.m. Tickets for adults are $39, children 12 and under are $19, and children under 3 are free. Tickets can be purchased here.
4th of July BBQ at the Aquarium of the Pacific
The Aquarium of the Pacific is offering guests a BBQ buffet on July 4! Reservations for the buffet meal on the front plaza and VIP lunch on the Rooftop Veranda dining area overlooking Rainbow Harbor will be available from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tickets include all-day Aquarium admission. Fireworks Show at Queensway Bay
The City of Long Beach is hosting a free fireworks show on July 4 at 9 p.m. at Queensway Bay which can be seen all along the waterfront. Viewing points for the show can be seen from Lions Lighthouse, Shoreline Village, Rainbow Harbor, and Marina Green. Harbor Breeze Cruises is offering firework viewing cruises on their boats with tickets ranging from $50 – $75 per person. Tickets for the cruises can be found here.
