Two of the best worlds ever collide to make one amazing event–music and food. For the third year in the row, the Music Tastes Good festival is making its return to Long Beach. The event will take place over a two-day span on September 29 and 30, 2018 at the Marina Green Park. Each year, Music Tastes Good gets bigger and bigger. This year, they are outdoing themselves once again. With artists like Janelle Monae performing and renowned chefs like Dawna Bass cooking, let’s take a look at all the fun coming up at the 3rd Annual Music Tastes Good Festival.

Festivities on Saturday

If you thought Sleater-Kinney and Ween tore down the Park last year, wait until you get a load of this year’s lineup! Saturday is the first night and a great way to get the party started. On the stage, New Order brings their “Blue Monday” vibes to a Saturday night. They will have a strong lineup ahead of them with certified gold recording artist, Joey Bada$$ bringing down the house.

Other names to take the stage on Saturday include:

  • Broken Social Scene
  • Santigold
  • Lil B
  • Princess Nokia
  • 15 Other Bands and Musicians

While the music is a great backdrop, what’s a party without the food? Luckily, your taste buds will be dancing when you see and smell your food choices. Whether tapas, Mexican, or plant-based food is your dejour, there will be plenty to devour with nine renowned chefs on site including Arthur Gonzalez, Anthony Bozza, and Aliye Aydin .

Festivities on Sunday

Day two of the Music Tastes Good keeps the good times rolling. Actress and musician Janelle Monae will grace the Franklin Stage to close out the night as she co-headlines with Beyonce and Kendrick Lamar collaborator, James Blake.

Other talent on-hand includes:

  • Lizzo
  • Parquet Courts
  • The Church
  • Bill Callahan
  • Ezra Furman
  • 12 Other Bands and Musicians

Hope you show up hungry on Sunday. With ten chefs on hand, there will be something for everyone. Renowned chef, Dawna Bass will bring her organic vegan fare, Sincere Justice will serve up his Chino-Latino fusion, and Diana Amadril will be scooping her artisanal ice cream.
