Food-a-Looza is bringing a smorgasbord of food trucks and pop-up vendors to Long Beach! This event will take place on March 4th and be located at the Pacific Coast Campus (PCC) of Long Beach City College. This brand-new food event will act as an outdoor venue for small business food vendors to share their cuisine and will also feature music and a lively beer garden.
Long Beach Living and the Pacific Coast Swap Meet have partnered to produce the event in hopes of making it a monthly occurrence to bring the community together through food and also give street vendors a platform where they can easily be found by hungry customers.
Food-a-Looza wants to eventually help street vendors get their food service license by encouraging them to attend a seminar available in both English and Spanish that will grant them this license in order to participate in the event. Sal Flores, the founder of Long Beach Living, says that his goal “is to help alleviate the process of vendors getting their license and give a space for them sell food on a regular basis.”
As of now, the event has 20 local vendors and 15 food trucks that will offer a variety of food such as seafood, tacos, Italian burgers, Thai food, Mediterranean, and German food. To finish off your meal, you’ll also be able to grab sweets! Dessert options will include brightly colored sugary shaved ice from Halole Boys and loaded funnel cakes piled high with fruit and ice cream from Inglorious Funnels.
Food-a-Looza will start at 2 p.m. on the corner of Alamitos and Pacific Coast Highway at LBCC’s PCC campus. The event is free entry and those interested in becoming a vendor can email lbhomeliving@gmail.com.
